I HAD a girlfriend that rides a HD Hugger. She said that if she went over 69 for an hour then her arms got numb. She said it was worth it for the vibration. That's what she loves. Now you may ask why I HAD a girlfriend that rides a HD. Well, because of her narrowmindedness that the only bike to ride is a HD even if it is MY bike, she crossed the line with some of her comments regarding my SO and our bikes. I have not spoken to her since. It's been a week. And I will not speak to her again until I get an apology. She is not the type to give on. My SO was buying a new/used bike. He was shopping around and was able to buy a 1997 Yamaha Royalstar Tour Classic for $6800. It books for $9600. The guy needed to sell it to buy his HD (go figure). My SO could buy this cash or go in debt for the HD. He rides whatever he likes. Doesn't have to be a HD. He owns a GPZ550, Kawasaki, Suzuki rotary and just sold his Honda Shadow today. He decided because of family obligations that we have and choose to help our adult kids and granddaughter (7months)when they need it, he did not want to go into debt for a HD. We already work two jobs. The second is a seasonal job to get us through the X-tras and he also gives motorcycle courses. Our family is still more important than our rides. I don't need friends like that and I said "whatever" and just walked away. It's too sad to lose a friendship over that but there's a limit over how much of a doormat I was going to be. My ride is MY ride. No one else has to like it. Just don't degrade me because I don't ride a HD! So, hopefully your friend is not as narrowminded as my friend.
I bought a $500 bike to ride for 30 days. Dumped it once. Sold it for $500 and have been riding my Savage ever since.
